Beeswax FAQ

How should I trim my wick?

Trim your wick to 1/4th inch using a regular scissors. Keep your wick trimmed to this length to maximize burn time and avoid darkening of the container. Never leave your candle burning unattended.

My candle isn't lighting, what's happening?

Most often, it's because the wick is too long. Try trimming it using a scissors or pulling off the excess wick with a tissue. If that doesn't work, give us a shout, and we'll troubleshoot with you!

Can I reuse my jar or camping mug?

Yes! Either freeze your candle and pop out the excess wax, or put the candle in a hot water bath and pour out the wax in a safe container. You can remove the wick holder sticker with a butter knife. Put the jar or mug in the dishwasher, and then reuse to your heart's content!

Why are beeswax candles so special?

Beeswax is hypoallergenic, non-toxic, and long-burning. Freer's Corner candles are also made with untreated cotton wicks, so they burn natural and don't release toxins into the air.

Will you take my finished jar?

Not yet, but when we roll-out a program to reuse jars, we'll let you know!

Why do you blend your beeswax with coconut oil?

Pure beeswax is an extremely lovely, but sometimes difficult substance to work with. Beeswax in a container for a candle is especially hard. Mixing with 20% USDA organic coconut oil guarantees a smooth and even burn, without losing any of the amazing properties of beeswax.

Do you or can you add scent to the candles?

Freer's Corner candles are not scented. The candle naturally gives off a beeswax scent, and is hypoallergenic. If you prefer a scent, you can add a few drops of your favorite oil to the melted wax on top at home!

Do you sell any other beeswax products?

Besides candles and melts called Hexlettes, not yet! When we roll out new products, we'll announce it on our website and social media channels. You can always let us know what products you might be interested in!

Can I return my candle?

No, but if you have concerns or issues with your order, please contact us and we will issue a refund.

My shipping seems a little high?

Shipping candles can add up, primarily due to the fragility and unexpected weight of the candle (they're small, but dense!). If you live in Minnesota, contact us to talk about potential delivery. If you're outside of Minnesota, contact us about any shipping concerns you might have.
